• Driver’s license: Category B for cars. For scooters up to 50cc, a B license is often accepted. For 125cc+ you need A1, A2, or A.
• International Driving Permit (IDP): Not required for EU licenses, but recommended for non-EU visitors or licenses not in English.
• Pick-up & Return: Most companies offer free delivery to the port or your hotel.
• Fuel policy: Usually “Full to Full” — return the vehicle with the same fuel level.
• Insurance: Basic third-party coverage & roadside assistance included. Check any damage excess or optional CDW/SCDW coverage.
• Off-road: Driving off-road or on unpaved tracks voids insurance coverage — avoid it.
• Driver age: Minimum 21 for cars, 23 for scooters. Young drivers may have a small surcharge.
• Extra tips: Book early (especially July–August), choose A/C vehicles, always wear a helmet, and take photos of the vehicle before departure.
