Italida, also called Platia Pounda, is one of the most beautiful and serene beaches on Ano Koufonisi. A natural, unspoiled cove with golden sand and turquoise waters — the essence of the Cyclades without beach clubs.

• Smooth golden sand and clear, gently sloping water — perfect for floating and relaxed swims.
• Minimal development and no sunbeds/umbrellas: peaceful, authentic island feel.

How to get there

• On foot: about 25–35 minutes from Chora at an easy pace, or 10–15 minutes from nearby Finikas Beach.
• By boat taxi: small boats run regular routes from the port and stop at Italida — check the current beach-boat schedules.

What to bring & useful tips

• Water and snacks — there are no kiosks on the beach.
• Sunscreen and portable shade (umbrella) — natural shade is limited.
• Towel or beach mat — the beach is non-organized.
• Comfortable shoes if walking from Chora (some rocky sections on the trail).
• Go early morning or late afternoon to avoid the strongest sun and busier hours.
